This fantastic flat in the old quarter of Borne is located only a few meters away from the famous cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar. A few steps from the building is the famous Paseo del Borne, the Ciutadella Park. It is an unbeatable area with many shops, restaurants, and bars in the city’s heart. The neighbourhood is very well communicated with the rest of the city by metro and several bus lines.
This unique flat has a lot of history. It is located on the main floor of an old building in one of the most emblematic streets of the neighbourhood. The flat has 140m2 (of which 110m2 are useful) and still preserves several historical details such as Catalan beams, and hydraulic floors of different styles (each room has its own).
Currently, the flat is distributed in a living/dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms, dressing room, a multipurpose room, one bathroom, and one toilet. At the entrance, we find a hall and a room fitted out as a dressing room which can also be a bedroom. After the entrance hall, we access the living/dining room through a large door. This dining room has access to a balcony overlooking the main street. From the living room, there is access to the main bedroom of about 20m2, also with access to the balcony. Connecting with the dining room, we find a hall that gives access to a double bedroom, a toilet, the kitchen and an interior patio. Then we have a large living room that can also be used as a reading room or office and the third bedroom and bathroom. The flat was refurbished five years ago and had electrical, gas and water installations up to date.
It is flat with a lot of history and potential. It can be converted into a unique home in one of the most emblematic neighbourhoods of the city by changing the distribution of the flat and opening the patios to get more natural light, preserving the old details and combining them with modern finishes. At Urbane, we work with several teams of architects and designers who will help you make your dreams come true.
The Borne neighbourhood
Barcelona’s Born is more than an artistic and eclectic neighbourhood; it has ties to a noble past. In medieval times, it became the home of the aristocracy and the centre of commerce due to its proximity to the sea which gave its name to most of the streets. Partially destroyed during the war of secession in the 18th century, this neighbourhood has recently returned to the centre of Barcelona life. El Born is a unique and historic destination worth discovering in Barcelona.
El Born is part of the Old City of Barcelona. Here, you will find a wealth of monuments and ancient sites to visit. But don’t be fooled by its medieval streets, because the Born has been filled with new shops, bars and restaurants that make it one of the most modern neighbourhoods in Barcelona. There’s also the Parc de la Ciutadella, home to Barcelona Zoo.
