The Barcelona culture
An irish author said about the Barcelona culture:
“I wrote every day between the ages of 12 and 20 when I stopped. Because I went to Barcelona, where life was too exciting to write.”
Once you arrive you will realize that there are so many things to see and do.
So many museums, art galleries and monuments to visit. But we can’t talk about the culture of Barcelona without talking about the parties, the afterworks and the clubs.
Here, you can find anything that suits your preferences. From a nice walking tour around El Born to partying until the dawn in an electro club. Barcelona truly has it all!
The dense history of Catalonia can be seen thanks to the architecture – which we talked about in our last article. But also, the art, the music and the history. The legacy of Barcelona is so important that there are more than 55 museums that retrace every piece of it.
From the Picasso Museum to the Chocolate Museum, but also the Museum d’Historia de Catalunya or Casa Battlo. As well as the MACBA, the Museum of Contemporary Art, also known for the worldwide skateboard’s tournaments.
There is always something for everyone!
It has a strong impact, but it’s also its people that make a city what it is.
Its language – which Catalan people are very proud – their music as well as their dancing. In Catalonia, they have their own traditional dance called the Sardana.
We all know that Barcelona is also the most cosmopolitan city in Spain. Barcelona is Barcelona because of the mixture of people and culture. Wherever you walk, you will hear Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian and others and even meet some South America people.
Each of these people play their part, and that’s what make the festivals and traditionnal fiestas unique and amazing. We couldn’t possibly list you all the festivals in Barcelona, but you can be sure that there is always one!
