Our View on Interior Trends for Spring-Summer 2022
Take a look at Urbane’s favourite interior trends of this season!
One positive outcome for many of the pandemic is that more and more people are working from home. According to a recent study by Eurofound (2022), 30% of employees have been working remotely since the start of the pandemic. Therefore an adjusted home office is required, and more and more people are taking this into account when buying a new property.
- Biophilic design
Since remote working and spending more time at home have increased, so has the need to spend more time in nature. This temptation to return to nature has sparked an interest in natural elements in interiors.
Think large windows, plants and nature-inspired colours and materials such as stoneware, terracotta, marble, and travertine. From the elegant black olive to southern magnolias, large trees are also on the rise again.
- Practical organisation of the interior
Urbane’s third interior trend of 2022 has everything to do with organising your house as efficient as possible. If a smart home is one step too far for you, you can already start with a practical organisation of your kitchen and bathroom.
With a 700% rise in Google searches for decluttering at the end of last year, 2022 appears to be the year for the ultimate spring clean.
- Catalan with a modern twist
A lot of Catalan ceilings can be found in Barcelona. The rich Catalan architecture has a variety of aspects and highly valued notions that can be identified by structural, architectural features like the arched stone ceiling, commonly known as the ‘volta.’
Experimenting with different styles that match the ceiling is on-trend this season!
